Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Cooling Toner Review

2:08 AM

Welcome to my first review of one of the products within my daily skincare regimen!

I’m reviewing the Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Cooling Toner, which I have been using for three months. So good news! It really suits me well since I used it for three straight months, without any side effects, except for the slight stinging, which is pretty normal.

Before anything else, I bump with this product since other common and well-known brands here in the Philippines do not suit me well. For the past products that I have used, I had breakouts and dry skin patches. Thus, I end up discontinuing the product. At first, I was very hesitant in buying products under the Neutrogena product range since it’s a BIG name, and what’s the next thing that comes to your mind? It seems expensive. But really, it isn’t. 200 mL isn’t so bad for Ph352. I’ve used it for more than three months, not bad right?

It is made in Korea! That’s a plus since Korea has great beauty products to die for!  Here are the ingredients. That’s the first thing I read once I grab a product. It’s better to read the ingredients part since sometimes the product description does not match the ingredients. Others would claim that they are paraben free, but first, before you believe, read the ingredients.

Ingredients:

Water, Alcohol Denat, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, PPG-5-Ceteth-20, Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Sodium PCA, Sodium Hydroxide, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Lactate, Menthyl Lactate, Benzoic Acid, Fragarance, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Cedrus Atlantica Bark Extract.

My experience on Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Cooling Toner

This toner is a miracle for my skin! I’m an experimental consumer; I can’t wait to change products or I’m easily seduced by other product’s claims and reviews. But with this toner, I’m settling down. My skin is not really acne prone, but I have oily skin and blackheads, which worsen when I used local products here in Philippines. But I do have those blackheads in the cheeks and nose which are so stubborn to rid of, due to its depth.

Anyway, I won’t claim that my skin is clear white after using this product. This product won’t make you poreless; no products can do that except make up. I still have those occasional acnes and pimples when my period comes. I still have blackheads from time to time. BUT, this product has lessen it and help me maintain my skin. What I like about this product is that even if I forget to use it for days or even a week, it doesn’t leave me any side effect (eg. Dark spots, darken skin, acnes, rashes). Unlike other toners which leave you with breakouts after discontinuing it.

PROS

It claims to be dermatologist tested, Oil free, Allergy tested, Noncomedogenic!
It lessens my blackheads/whiteheads; however, not 100% blackhead eliminating, I still have blackheads, but only small and controllable ones, which my favourite dermatologist takes care for me.
I no longer have those deep and big blackheads, like a black hole. Wew! I used to have that which only my derma can get rid of.
Deeply cleanses skin and controls oil.
Contains Witch-hazel, Salicylic acid and BHA.
I consumed one bottle for three months. I used it twice a day. But it depends on you.

CONS
It has a stinging effect, so don’t rub it too much. Just lightly rub it.
It contains paraben.

Would I Buy Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Cooling Toner Again?
Yes, actually I’m almost finish with the first bottle. I’m planning to buy again!

I love this product. This is the only toner that I have used religiously. The effect is also visible.
Suggestion: Used it with other Neutrogena product, or a mild facial wash, since the toner already stings the skin. Then, moisturize after.
Thank you for reading! Have you tried the Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Cooling Toner? xoxo
